About the Role:

Meta is looking for passionate software engineers to join its Android engineering team in Hyderabad, India. The team is dedicated to building cutting-edge products that connect billions of people globally. As a Software Engineer for Android at Meta, you will work on complex technical problems, develop brand new features, and enhance existing products that span mobile devices and web applications. Responsibilities:

• Work closely with product managers and design teams to craft new and innovative experiences for Android devices.
• Implement custom native user interfaces using the latest Android development techniques.
• Build reusable Android software components for back-end platform integration.
• Analyze and optimize application code to improve quality, efficiency, and overall performance.
• Continuously improve user experience, keeping Meta’s standards of quality and security at the fore.

Requirements:

• Minimum of 2 years’ programming experience in a relevant language (such as Java or Kotlin)
• At least 1 year of hands-on experience building complex Android applications in a production environment using native languages and frameworks
• Demonstrable experience in creating maintainable and testable codebases, including API design and unit testing
• Knowledge of multithreading and mobile memory management principles
• Experience with performance debugging and benchmarking for Android applications
• Bachelor’s degree (or in final year) in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related technical field—or equivalent practical experience
• Preferred: Experience shipping large-scale products to millions of users; familiarity with wireless technologies (Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, UWB, NFC); understanding of Android connectivity and networking APIs
